Frequently Asked Questions
What is holistic herbalism?
Holistic herbalism relies on the natural medicine available in plants to help move your body—and you as a complete person—towards a place of wholeness.
Approaching well-being through a holistic lens means attending not only to obvious symptoms, but working at deeper levels to heal the underlying causes of issues that arise. Working holistically leverages the natural intelligence of your body, and honors the reality that body, mind, and world are interconnected.
In the process, we emphasize the foundations of health—including nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management. Medicinal plants can help at all of these levels, making them perfect allies for this type of healing.
What kind of herbal remedies do you recommend?
Depending on your needs and situation, I might recommend teas, tinctures, food-based approaches, supplements, topical oils, or other herbal preparations. I favor gentle, sustainable, and accessible options, and I always have an eye towards your comfort level and budget.
Where do I get the herbs you recommend?
You can purchase herbs online from a supplier—I provide links in my follow-up information. Alternatively, we can place an order at my local compounding apothecary, and they will ship your custom formulas to you.
How much does it cost to work with you?
Initial consultations are $200; follow-ups are $150/session. After your initial session, I also offer discounted rates for prepaid 3-session ($400) and 5-session ($650) packages.
These prices do not include the cost of your herbal preparations, which generally run between $50-$100/month.
Do you take insurance?
No, but if you have a health savings account (HSA), check with your provider to see whether holistic health care or herbal products are reimbursable.
What if I have questions in between sessions?
Please ask! I’m available to you through my client platform between sessions to answer any questions. This is included as part of the cost of your sessions, and I’m happy to help!
What if I need to reschedule or cancel a session?
You can reschedule or cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice at no charge. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged a $75 fee. No-shows will be charged in full.
